Hi, I’m Yentl! I am 20 years old and a student at the University of applied sciences in Utrecht. I would say I am you average social media user. Not too often and not too intensively. I am always ready for the next adventure and I’m seeing this research assignment as one big, interesting rollercoaster ride that will give us more knowledge and insight as to how social media effects the body image of young women.

Giulia Venerus, Italian

Hi! I am Giulia, from Milan, Italy. I have always been interested in finding out what effect social media can have on women perception of the body, therefore I decided to research more about it. I am a subject too, since I relate with social media everyday. I always see the “perfect body”, “the perfect shape” and so on in every social media I use, although I know the difference between a real and a fake picture. I hope to find out more about this topic, since it effects our everyday life.

Anne de Wal, Dutch

Hi there! My name is Anne de Wal, and I am a 20 year old Dutch ICM student. As a heavily user of social media I keep updated on the latest trends, and I have seen that the manifestation of embracing plus size woman is one of them! With this project I am hoping to gain more insight on what exactly the influence is of social media on young women, and how it affect people their daily life.

Enes Day, Dutch

Hola, Enes here! I’m 18 years old and come from a small town in the east. I’m a huge fan and an active user of social media, and I firmly believe that most people get influenced by the things they see on the internet. Being a male, I rarely see any negative remarks about my gender floating around on the internet, since the society mostly cares about how women “should” look like. With this study I want to research how much pressure there is on females to be “perfect”, and to what extend this ideology affects them in their daily lives

Dagmar Burggraaf, Dutch

Hello, my name is Dagmar. I am a 20-year-old Dutch student at the University of applied sciences in Utrecht. The reason that I was so invested into this topic is because of its relevance to me personally. I think that everyone in their teenage years has struggles with their own being and the way they look, especially girls. Seeing opinions transformed into data that justifies these issues is very exciting and I hope to be able to learn more about this topic in the long run.
